Heartland Companies, Inc. was founded as a management company to provide consistent leadership, financial strength, and business culture across several business enterprises with common ownership. Supply Chain Solutions was originally founded in June of 2004 as a logistic, merger and acquisition consulting company and was later incorporated in May of 2005. Consulting services have been provided internationally for both private industry and the U.S. government. Further information can be found at www.globalscs.com. In 2008, the corporate name became Heartland Manufacturing Group, Inc. to better reflect the manufacturing nature of the acquisitions and Supply Chain Solutions, the consulting company, became a d/b/a of Heartland Companies, Inc.
In March of 2006 Heartland Manufacturing Group, Inc., formerly Supply Chain Solutions, Inc., acquired the assets of Worldwide Building Sales, Inc. and U.S. Truss Steel Buildings, Inc. The names were consequently changed to d/b/a’s of Worldwide Steel Buildings and U.S. Steel Truss. Both Worldwide and US Truss were originally founded in 1983. Worldwide is a distribution and sales company for pre-engineered steel buildings. They sell buildings to meet industrial, commercial, and residential requirements, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, airplane hangers, churches, riding arenas, and residential housing throughout the United States. Further information can be found at www.worldwidesteelbuildings.com. U.S. Steel Truss is a steel manufacturer with a 32,000 sq ft facility in Peculiar MO. They specialize in custom steel fabrication and manufacture structural steel frames, purlins, girts and other building components. Further information can be found at www.ussteeltruss.com.
In November of 2007 Mid-America Contracting, Inc. was founded and established to provide a contracting business in support of other Heartland Manufacturing Group entities. Further information can be found at www.mid-americacontracting.com. November 8, 2007 the assets of Michael’s Basement Company, Inc. were acquired. The name was changed to d/b/a Michael’s Basement Company. Michael’s was originally founded in 1987 and has established a premier reputation for pouring foundation walls in the Kansas City area. In conjunction with that acquisition, concrete water proofing assets were acquired and Michaels has begun offering waterproofing as an extension of its foundation business. In June of 2008, Mid-America Contracting, Inc. acquired the assets of GMP Flatwork, LLC. The name was changed to d/b/a GMP Flatwork. GMP has been doing flatwork both grey and decorative, serving builders and homeowners since 1992. More information can be found at www.gmpflatwork.com.
